Title: Coquille River Lighthouse

Coquille River Lighthouse

Juried into the Coos Art museum's 19th Annual maritime Exhibit, 2012.

The Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon, Oregon is not the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, but it is a beautiful lighthouse. This oil painting is of the lighthouse as seen from the southside of the river's edge at low tide. I added the shorebird to add a bit of zing and interest to the piece which worked well to compliment the rocks and tidepools. This painting has so many interesting compositional elements going on in it that it could make two very good but different paintings.
