Title: Distant Thunder

I saw this grand old buffalo standing on a ridge in Yellowstone National Park. I added the thunder clouds to the background to mimick the bulky quality of the buffalo. Doing those thunder clouds was quite a challenge to do in watercolor. It required many subtle shades of washes each with blending of clear water washes. Eventually I built up all the shades and hues until it looked billowy and thunderous.
