Forest Dogwood

Description

Medium: Watercolor; Image Size: 7.5″h x 7.5″w; 2015

In this quick watercolor study, I wanted to show the lantern like qualities of Dogwood flowers whose papery, white petals almost glow against the dark hues and values of the dense forest canopies they grow in. I kept the surrounding wash of this watercolor loose but indicated other plants in the background.

This painting is UNFRAMED, with a single white matt and backing to fit in a 12″ x 12″ frame.
