This scene shows the mountains at the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. I love the contrast of golden hues against the gray blue hues of the stormy sky and thought it would make a striking painting.
This painting has morphed numerous times. Originally it had elk in it, then I painted out the elk and put in a horse. Later, I added several horses. Eventually it became this landscape.
This oil painting is FRAMED. Frame outside measurements is approximately 30 3/8″h x 44 1/2″w x 2″d.
