Walk In Fields of Gold
Medium: Watercolor, Image Size: 20″h x 28 1/2″w, 1994.
A herd of cow elk walk through a meadow of golden grasses in Yellowstone National Park. I saw this scene at the north entrance to the park. It was incredibly cold that winter day, so I depicted that cold storminess in the background. There were abundant elk herds in the park, so I married this beautiful scene with this lovely female elk. This painting exhibited in the Leigh Yawkey Woodsen Art Museum’s ‘Wildlife: The Artist’s View’ exhibition.
