A carved creepy pumpkin how to video by Janet Tarjan Erl.

I wanted to celebrate Halloween by carving a creepy pumpkin. I video captured the process and made a YouTube video of it and titled it ‘The Making of Vladimir Pumpkin’.

I carved the pumpkin with primitive tools, but I accented the pissed off features with dark acrylic paint. The teeth and eyeballs were made out of Sculpey clay which I baked. I inserted toothpicks into the teeth before baking them so that I could insert them into the pumpkin’s mouth. Watch the video to see all the details so that you can learn how to make your own spooky pumpkin.

Medium: Pumpkin, 8.5”h x 8.5”w, 2023.

I paint in watercolor, oil, and acrylic mediums, as well as Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I like to create art that has sophistication, cleverness, beauty, or humor.
