Coquille River Lighthouse
Medium: Oil, Image Size: 22″h x 16″w, 2011.
The Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon, Oregon is not the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, but it is a beautiful lighthouse. This oil painting is of the lighthouse as seen from the south-side of the Coquille River’s edge at low tide. I added the shorebird to add interest to the piece and composition which worked well to compliment the rocks and tide-pools. This painting has so many interesting compositional elements going on in it that it could make two very good but different paintings.
This oil was juried into the 19th Annual Maritime Art Exhibit, 2012, Coos Art Museum, Coos Bay, Oregon.
