Lilac and Swallowtail

Medium: Watercolor, Digital/Photoshop, Image Size: 16”h x 20.5″w, T-shirt Image Size: 4″h x 9″w, 2003.

This design was created as an apparel design for T-shirts. I added the words, “Petals and Wings are Delicate Things”, to compliment this beautiful Swallowtail butterfly and the common lilac flower it is perched on. I photographed these two in my backyard.

Painted in watercolor, scanned into the computer, floated, graphics, colors, effects, and text were done in Photoshop.
