ABOUT THE ARTWORK: This small watercolor landscape painting is a small study from the bluff of Cape Ferrelo on the Oregon coast. When looking south from the Cape it overlooks Lone Ranch State Park near Brookings, Oregon. It is a beautiful beach surrounded with many rugged rock monoliths, small islands, and outcrops. Lone Ranch is a very scenic, popular tourist destination. I had previously painted a plein aire painting from this bluff on August 11, 2013 from 4:00pm-6:30pm. It was an inspiring bluff to paint from because it overlooked such a beautiful stretch of the southern Oregon coast.
