Muskrat Island
Medium: Watercolor, Image Size: 21”h x 27”w, 1985.
This watercolor was painted on location along the American River at Arden Bar Slough in Sacramento, California. This was part of a series of plein-air pieces I did of the American River Parkway. It took a couple of weeks to complete because I could only paint for a few hours each day before the lighting had changed too much. I called it Muskrat Island because I watched a muskrat go back and forth from the island everyday, so I assumed it lived there.
