ABOUT THE ARTWORK:  This was one of my first wildlife paintings I did in acrylics. Originally the canvas was 12” x 16”, but I cropped it down to a 12″ x 12″ size. I kept the style fairly loose with the background, but when I painted the otter, I incorporated more details. Every time I looked at this painting it reminded me of an Otter giving many blessings, so I titled it Otter Namaste. Namaste is Sanskrit word which means “praise to you, honor you, bowing to you, reverential salutation to you, and adoration to you”.  I was amazed at how quickly I could paint in acrylics.
