Shasta Lily Study
Medium: Watercolor, Image Size: 12″h x 8″w, 2000, Revised 2021.
The Shasta Lily (Cascade Lily) is a gorgeous flower found in shrubby and rocky areas in the Pacific Northwest. I found this one beside the Pacific Crest Trail in Siskiyou County, California. I thought it would make a nice painting. The first version of this painting had no background. The second version had a loose colorful wash. The final version has a very dark background that better accents the beautiful colors of this lily.
