ABOUT THE ARTWORK:  This watercolor depicts a band of shorebirds marching along the surf in a colorful sunset beach. I saw this beach at Carmel, California. I’m not sure what species these birds were, but they complimented the linear quality of the many colors, shapes, and textures of the various ocean waves and bodies. It was a complicated painting to do in watercolor and capture the various waves and their shapes and textures.
