Sorrel in Autumn
Medium: Oil, Image Size: 34″h x 48″w, 2010.
This painting depicts a scenic aspen filled forest in Rocky Point, Oregon that I often hiked past. The autumn colors of the aspen contrast beautifully with the green hues of Ponderosa Pine needles. A perky sorrel horse gazes at the viewer. This sorrel horse had such a proud attitude, so I felt he was a perfect complement to this colorful and bright aspen forest. There is such a diversity of colors, and textures. There are aspens, pines, brush, and grasses, and the fence appears to be an aspen fence. This scene is typical of the lush, beautiful aspens of Rocky Point in the fall.
