Medium: Watercolor, Image Size: 18″h x 22″w, 1981.

This is an early landscape style that I painted on location in Joshua Tree National Park at Split Rock. This style was done without doing any prior sketching. I would pick a spot to paint and just go for it. Since I was only able to paint a few hours each day, it took several days to complete the painting.

This is one of a series of paintings I did that spring in Joshua Tree National Park.
