I painted these two wolves at rest on a misty winter day on the hard pack snowy flanks of Mt. Shasta, California. The male wolf watches over the female wolf as she cleans her paw. The setting is a common scene on the flanks of Mt. Shasta.

This piece exhibited in the Leigh Yawkey Woodsen Art Museum’s ‘Wildlife: The Artist’s View.’
