YouTube Video of 'Whimbrel Study' Oil Painting Being Painted

Here is my most recent video.  This video shows a Whimbrel shorebird being painted in oils.  Watch and learn some new skills with painting shorebirds and the surf’s edge of ocean waves as I explain what I’m painting.  This is a realistic style of painting.

Medium: Oil, Image Size: 8″h x 10″w, 2023.

Janet saw this Whimbrel at Morro Bay, California.  It was feeding along the surf’s edge along with hundreds of other shorebirds. The birds were impressive, beautiful, and elegant.  There were Long -billed Curlews, Marbled Godwits, Whimbrels, and Western Sandpipers.

Janet was very grateful to those birds for generously sharing their magnificence and inspiring her to do this painting.

Over the past forty-five years I’ve put millions of brushstrokes to paper, canvas, and digital screens to master award winning skills few can rival. I paint in watercolor, oil, and acrylic mediums, as well as Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I like to create art that has sophistication, cleverness, beauty, or humor.
