I saw this Whimbrel at Morro Bay, California. It was feeding among hundreds of shorebirds along the surf and having a feast. The birds were impressive, beautiful, and elegant. There were Long -billed Curlews, Marbled Godwits, and the Western Sandpipers alongside the Whimbrels.

I was very grateful to those birds for generously sharing their magnificence with us, and I hope the painting will inspire others to appreciate their beauty too.
