Yes! Christmas has gone to the dogs, so… you might as well join the fun and howl away the howlidays too. This artwork depicts how I think dogs would like to celebrate Christmas-floating above town in a sleigh and howling out their favorite Christmas tunes.

Painted in watercolor. Scanned into the computer, floated, painting enhancements, graphics, colors, effects, and text were done in Photoshop.

This design was a humorous statement about how menopause can make things get ugly. You definitely don’t want to mess with these menopause bitches, or they’ll blow your head off.

Prevent Cruelty to Vegetables

Medium: Pencil, Digital/Photoshop, Image Size: 14”h x 12″w, 2002.

At the time this design was created, my husband and I owned Trekker Designs, an apparel decorating company, and one of the things we did was to screen print our designs onto apparel products and novelty gifts and sell them to our wholesale clients. This design was a spoof on the “prevent cruelty to animals”, movement. I have read many articles about how plants are sentient too. When hooked up to EKG machines, plants will express pain when they are hurt. I’ve talked with animal rights activists who argue with me when I point this out. I suppose they couldn’t live with themselves if they found out plants don’t want to be eaten. So, I made a satirical statement about being eaten, it’s just from a different point of view.

Expose Your Underwear

Expose Your Underwear

Medium: Pencil, Digital/Photoshop, Image Size: 5”h x 12″w, 2011.
This design was a spoof on fashion movement of young people exposing their underwear in public. It is most commonly seen in young men who have the waist of their pants almost down to their crotch thus exposing their underwear. I find it entertaining to look at them as they waddle along trying to not let their pants fall off. So I made this satirical statement about showing off one’s underwear, it’s just from a different point of view.
