Where Wolf

This design was created as an apparel design for T-shirts. I thought this would make an interesting design by having the wolf comprised of nine different animals. Things aren’t always what they appear to be as is the case with this Wherewolf. What at first appears to be a nice portrait of a wolf head, is actually an image comprised of many hidden animals. Where are all the animals in the ‘Wherewolf’? Find the grey squirrel, field mouse, snow goose, raccoon, western fence lizard, coyote, red-tailed hawk, and bobcat.

Painted in watercolor, scanned into the computer, floated, graphics, colors, effects, and text were done in Photoshop.

Almost Bearadise

Medium: Watercolor, Digital/Photoshop, Image Size: 17”h x 12.5″w, ©2001.

This design was commissioned by Black Bear Diner Corporation owners, Bob and Laurie Manley, who wanted an apparel design for T-shirts to sell in their diners and to be worn by employees. They wanted a cute, anthropomorphic bear fishing on a float tube.

Just where is Bearadise? Well, its somewhere in the country where bears can relax on float tubes and fish for fat trout while they enjoy the beautiful country scenery. It’s definitely bear paradise!

Painted in watercolor, floated, and added text and effects in Photoshop.

Wanna Play

Medium: Watercolor, Digital/Photoshop, Image Size: 16”h x 20″w, ©2002.

This design was created as an apparel design for T-shirts. This design was originally conceived for an illustration for my children’s book, The Weird Wolf, but it later morphed into this apparel design. This illustration was part of a series I called Nature’s Little Ones that featured cute wild animals in a fancy cartoon style. I painted these two wolf cubs being eager to play and have some fun.

Painted in watercolor, scanned into the computer, floated, graphics, colors, effects, and text were done in Photoshop.

Hazel’s Frosteria

Hazel’s Frosteria

Medium: Digital Photoshop, Image Size: 12″h x16″w, 2009.

I did this design as a sample to show one of my graphic styles that I do. I thought it was a cute image of a cow jumping over a hamburger. I was inspired to do this design because of my childhood memories of growing up in a family that owned a Foster’s Freeze fast food restaurant. Foster’s Freeze franchises are a lot like A & W fast food restaurants because they serve a broad variety of ice cream products. I have many good memories of my family’s store, and this design sort of summed it up in a fun way.

Sketched in pencil. Scanned into the computer, floated, painting, graphics, colors, effects, and text were done in Photoshop.
